Types of Scaffolding Systems and Where They're Used

Scaffold systems vary by the nature of the work and the site itself. The main types include tube-and-fitting scaffolding, prized for its configuration flexibility; cuplock systems, valued for fast erection; and H-frame scaffolding, common on façade work.

Cuplock and ringlock systems are primarily used for heavy load-bearing shoring, while suspended scaffolding suits façade and maintenance work at significant heights, and mobile aluminum towers offer a fast, lightweight solution for short-duration tasks.

Choosing the right system depends on expected load, required height, duration of use, site conditions — industrial versus residential — and inspection requirements. Getting these factors right early saves both time and cost, and keeps the project safe throughout.
