Ownership starts to make financial sense once utilization is consistently high — a contractor with several concurrent sites or a steady pipeline of similar-scale projects can spread the purchase cost across enough reuse cycles to beat cumulative rental fees, provided they also budget for storage, transport, and refurbishment between projects.
A middle path many Saudi contractors use is a hybrid model: owning a base stock of frequently used components (standard frames, props) while renting specialized or high-volume items (system scaffolding, heavy shoring) only for the projects that need them — keeping capital flexible without sacrificing availability.
