The certification focuses specifically on risk identification, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, and response planning, going deeper into these areas than the general PMP curriculum covers as part of its broader scope.
PMI-RMP suits project managers who already hold experience managing risk registers and want formal recognition for that specialization, as well as professionals moving into dedicated risk management roles on large capital projects where a generalist PMP is not enough to demonstrate depth.
